“Communication was top-notch and the final outcome was even better than we imagined. A great experience all around.”
“Every detail was thoughtfully executed. We're thrilled with the outcome.”
“I’ve recorded numerous #1 Billboard songs at The Record Shop, and always look forward to my time there. Gio understands how to work a vocal, how to make a track really come alive, and he has overdelivered on every project I’ve ever brought him.” – John Rich
“The Record Shop, is hands down one of the most professional and creative recording studios I’ve worked in. The atmosphere is comfortable, inspiring, and built for artists to perform at their best. Giovanni has an incredible ear for detail and knows how to bring out the best in every session.” – Charlie Pennachio

I’m just your friendly neighborhood Audio Engineer. I love sound and I love people. Growing up in the DC suburbs, I fell in love with music after getting my first American Idiot CD (I know, super original). I graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Audio Engineering and have been in the Nashville Music scene for the past 9 years. When I’m not mixing you can usually find me either painting, running, or watching TV with my wife, Ellen.
Some of my favorite artists are The 1975, Ed Sheeran, and the Cranberries.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Tax deduction: Unfortunately, Sarah is not a non-profit organization, so it is not deductible. However, it’s worth mentioning that your donation goes directly to supporting the artist, and in turn helps to create art that will deeply benefit people in the world.
-
Nonrefundable: All contributions are final and nonrefundable except where required by payment provider policies or applicable law.
-
Where does it go: Your support goes directly to recording and producing songs, mixing the songs to make sure they sound balanced, and lastly mastering the songs - polishing so it sounds the best it possibly can when it releases. Your contributions are an invaluable part of the project, helping to ensure that it will maintain momentum, execution, and increase the chances of it being heard. Sarah does not have a label or sponsor to assist in continuing to release and create music; she currently pays for all music and advertising expenses out-of-pocket which tends to become very expensive. Funds also go towards legal agreements involved with songwriter publishing, producer splits, and supporting the proper handling of royalties, publishing, copyright, and administrative music rights, allowing Sarah to control her interests in the music while making sure those involved in the project are properly compensated. Your kindness, no matter the number, helps the creative process come to fruition.
-
Set goal: Costs vary from song to song so there’s no accurate way to estimate it on a per song basis. Right now, Sarah is hoping to maintain a minimum of 15-20 donors per month to be able to maintain continuity of her projects. Since this is a new way of finding creative support, as a community, she’s starting small and hoping to grow from there.
-
Volunteer: Absolutely, the best way to get more involved is by playing Sarah’s music and sharing it with others.
-
In kind donations: Yes, certain acceptable in-kind donations are welcome.
Types of Acceptable In-Kind Donations:
While monetary gifts are always welcome, musicians frequently need:
Flight Cases for Luna guitars.
Electronics: Gently used laptops, iPads, microphones, audio interfaces, and digital recording gear.
Gift Cards & Travel: Grocery, gas, airline miles, and restaurant gift cards help touring musicians cover daily expenses on the road when touring.
Professional Services: tax preparation, graphic design, and audio engineering services for demonstration recordings.
-
Donations in memory: Absolutely! Just make a note of who you would like to honor. Some of Sarah’s family, friends, and fans have passed on, but their incredible spirit continues to live on through her music
